Electric Aggregation Program Update – Beginning with June 2026 Bills

Clearcreek Township’s current electric aggregation program ends with your May 2026 bill. A new program will begin in June 2026 and run through December 2027. Below are the supplier selections and rates for each utility service area:

For Duke Energy Customers

  • Supplier: Dynegy

  • Program Rate: 9.9999¢ per kWh

  • Term: June 2026 – December 2027

  • The Township estimates Duke’s default generation rate will be 10.5¢ per kWh or higher beginning in June.

Duke Sample Opt-Out letter

For AES Ohio Customers

  • Supplier: Constellation

  • Program Rate: 9.89¢ per kWh

  • Term: June 2026 – December 2027

  • The Township estimates AES’s default generation rate will be 10.2¢ per kWh or higher starting in June.

What Happens Next

  • Opt‑out letters will be mailed beginning March 25.

  • If you wish to participate in the aggregation program, no action is required.

  • If you prefer to stay with your utility’s default supply or choose a different supplier, you may opt out using the instructions in the letter.

Already with a Third-Party Supplier (Duke Customers)?

If you are already with a third-party supplier, you need to drop with your current supplier before you can join the aggregation program. Duke needs to see a pending drop from your current supplier before they will accept an enrollment from the aggregation supplier. You can call your current supplier (their information is usually on Page 3 or 4 of the Duke bill in the right column) or Duke to drop from your current supplier. Make sure you understand if you have any termination fees before dropping from your current supplier.

Enrollment is Easy

Some suppliers let you enroll yourself online and you’ll see the “Click Here” link in the table above if the supplier has the option. If they don’t have an online enrollment option, we have the suppliers phone number listed.

Misleading Sales Tactics?

Door-to-door solicitors are everywhere and the phone calls to buy energy seem to never end. Don’t be fooled by these offers. The supplier of the aggregation will never come to your door! Some salespeople may display a solicitor’s permit or official looking badge. THE PERMIT IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT BY THE COMMUNITY, and the badge may be misleading. They may claim they work with the utility or XYZ Energy company and offer rates far below anything you presently are receiving. Please do not show them your energy bill.  Also, beware of robo-calls and phone solicitors claiming that “your utility account has been flagged for review.” This could also a scam by an unethical broker or supplier designed to mislead you.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to close the door on the solicitor and call your local officials.
